Hi sanderz,

Yeap your right about the lock.

You can't see in the images but I have cut a little out of the frame stops but will need to beef them up a little

Because this is a blind build things wont become obvious untill other things are done first.

Major frame mods left are (in no particular order):
1. align and make spacers for the swinging arm
2. weld the rear suspension mounts
3. adjust the rear V so that there is not a huge space behind the side panels.
4. mount the side panels
5. mount the tail piece and rear light assembly
6. mock up a seat
7. make a couple of engine mounts
8. mount some handlebars (not really frame but would be useful )

I will probably start working on the engine at the same time as I would really like to pull it down a check everything is ok in there.

Phil how straight and true do You think that frame is after all that welding ?

Finally got some time to look at the rear wheel alignment and swinging arm spacing.

Using an electronic spirit level and lasers to get the frame absolutely horizontal I measured the headstock / forks / swinging arm pivot and it appears to be straight

When we did the welding we did a bit and left it to cool then did a little more etc. then did a filler run to tidy it all up a little and using that method seems to have stopped any distortion.

Tubing on order so when that arrives I can start designing the rear shock top mount together with the side panels / seat and tailpiece alignment / mounting.

Once that is done I will be getting on with the engine mounts.

Engine Stripped GRRRRRRRR!!!!!

1. Took the alternator casing off and there is no starter ring on the end of the crank!



2. Took the inner sprocket cover off and the gear lever support is broken.



3. Took the head off and the front of the barrels have a crack in them.



4. Barrels off and the lower cam chain guide only has one pad the other is missing.



5. Removed all crank case bolts and all three on the clutch side sheared.



6. Found some shrapnel in the crank area of the crank case. There is also a pic of one of the bolts that sheared the other two took flying lessons and are the other side of the garage somewhere.



Going off somewhere to calm down for a bit now GRRRRRR!!!!

That"s the very same bolt that broke on mine a few weeks back,
same small amount was left on bolt, I gave it some heat, then carefully applied a pair of mole grips with very good nearly new teeth, and she came out so hopefully your will do the same.....

Phil , flick the V's at it and walk off closing the door behind you .
Go and have a beer or two .
Walk back in on Friday and all will seem better

It's not that bad and I can sort it all out.

In fact I have a plan it just means that maybe phase 2 and possibly phase 3 on my long term plan for the bike may have to be moved forward
