That green one piggy was built by Steve Ledsham he runs a restoration srevice business and is big into the CRMC forum.
He had a suzy one as well and tends to snap up 18" dymags if they come up.
He wanted big money for his though.

I don't think they have the right length shock on it, as you say you usually jack the rear end down but with the rear axle on top it seems to line up. Maybe a trick of the light!

I paid a visit to a mate who does Engineering to talk about sorting out the ZZR1100 forks & yokes to fit on the Harris. The stem is 35mm dia. on the ZZR but the headstock on the Harris is only 53mm so the largest taper roller bearing is 32mm I.D 
So I pressed out the stem and Neil can make up a new one for me
I also blew a bit more cash on these beauties....

I also got a reply from HARRIS about my frame. It was made in October 1981 for a Z1000 motor & they will gladly supply me with an official dating cert for the DVLA

yokes.
ZRX Yokes fit straight in with a bearing change and have the same diameter as the zzr ones. ZRX yokes are better looking but zzr11 top yoke is stepped which may help you regain height if your using short forks.
The offset is less than the standard Harris was designed for 42mm I think instead of 45mm. A standard mag should run 45mm offset 18" front wheel with a 29.5 inch fork height.
(thats from memory though I might have to check my black book)
This was how they were designed but the steering would be slow by modern standards.
It really depends what your doing if your using 17"Dymags then youre not doing a period racer restoration, and you should be able to get decent tyres. 18" tyres are getting bloody expensive.
Forks wise
most ran 38mm forks in the day, and MIR'S, Cerriannis etc are bloody expensive. (Use some 38mm GPz forks that you probably already have and they are long enough)
