Don't want to have any more boring with talk of sprockets & gearing......... have had far too much of that for the time being, but as a last word (for now), I've ordered a 34t rear sprocket today!
Also fitted my £10.00 pushbike speedo, will be interested to see what that reads @ 5ooo rpm (on my rev counter, Piggy!)
I will try & post some pic's tomorrow, of the other goodies I've been accumulating over the last week or so....................

Right, Been for a blast with me new (temporary) speedo. It reads 65mph @ my 5000rpm, so close enough to the Tom Tom results for me to think the speed is accurate at least.
New lowered rear end is pant's. Bike looks small, side stand don't work properly & worse still chain foul's on the back of the footrest mount behind the frame. (pic's to follow)
ChrisNI suggested removing some of the material on the top of the swinging arm, I thought of poss being able to fit some sort of 'idler' wheel on the top of the swinging arm. Spoke to one of the Zed Guru's this morning. Ray Debben. He advised best route was to remove some material from the swinging arm. I said I had seen loads of similarly jacked up Zed's, he said they would probably have been built to look at rather than ride!!
So, I'm off to ebay to source a new swinger!!

Thank's KwackerZ1,
Swinger is from a GSXR600 SRAD. I tried a ZXR750 arm at the very start & found it was too wide. I've got my eye on a couple of SRAD arms on ebay, cheap enough at the moment. Both £15.00 + £10.00 postage. Thankfully there seems to be a good supply of these. Once I've got me hands on one, I'll try and find someone locally who is prepared to mill a groove out then refinish it with a bit of sheet should it need it......... then Mikey will get a call!

What did the Mk2 have as standard Rich, or are you running an earlier gearbox? The parts diagram shows a 35t. The A1 in European guise at least was 33t, but with 35t listed for the US model.

Nipped into Debben's today, I was sort of in the area (well Winchester really, but if I take the scenic route home, then it's on the way!). I had a good talk with Steve about gearing/sprocket sizes & things don't really add up with my bike after speaking to Steve. I have ordered an 18t front sprocket, which will help my swinging arm clearance. Hopefully I can keep the 38t rear or even go a little larger to help clearance issues further.
I picked up a new set of clutch (friction) plates while I was there, as the original one's have never been changed (well not by me anyway) & clutch slip may be a problem that I am not aware of. ChrisNI mentioned this first & I discounted it. Still not sure if it is a problem, but a nice spanking set of clutch plates won't do any harm. I can also fit me roller bearing clutch 'mushroom' which I've had stashed, at the same time.
The other thing I am beginning to doubt even more is the tacho fitted to my bike. (I know Piggy, you told me so!) I have considered fitting an electronic tacho as a temp measure, but in the mean time I have conducted another little experiment!!!
I have a spare Zed tacho, which when I ran it up using a cordless drill at full speed (1300rpm drill speed) gave a reading of 6750rpm on the clock. When I did the same thing on the tacko fitted to the bike I got a reading of 7000rpm!!!
