Anyhow, after a quick turnaround we were taxi'd off to a local restaurant.

Had an hour to spare this evening, which I thought I'd put to use cleaning up my Accel (so I'm led to believe) coils.

Removed the leads & stripped off all the tape & found this;

Image

These have now been 'earmarked' for the bin.

Looks like I'll have to spend a bit more wonga........... Good job Jeff's got a sale on. :sou

Spent a few minutes cleaning up the Taylor leads, not sure if I'll use 'em or not though.

They'll be on ebay if I see something I like the look of while I'm shopping for me coils.

Been busy with work recently, which makes a refreshing change. So not much progress except for loads of parts arriving.

New Dyna coils came from Z1enterprises, Repro master cylinder & fuel cap arrived from Hutchy, Exhaust arrived back from Camcoat & my fork stantions came back from Hard chrome plating & grinding.

New brake pistons & seals also arrived & Mikey went out of his way to polish my calipers.... just not had time to put 'em together yet.

I have managed to rebuild the forks & fit 'em, along with a nice new shiny repro Ltd mudguard.

With a bit of luck I'll find some time to get stuck back into it this week.

Thought it was best to concentrate getting the bike back on it's wheels, so thats what I've been doing. :o
I blasted the wheels, then took 'em to Mikey to have the rims & spokes polished. I've had 'em back for a while, just been putting off this job, as it makes such a mess, and all this paint seems to contain Xylene/Toluene which seems to be evil in a can.
Anyhow, masked & trimmed the rims & spokes.... about three hours work.
Here they are with a coat of etch primer...

Image

Here they are after three coats of white 'basepaint', another three coats of Alpine white pearl, then two coats of clearcoat.

Image

Image

Best bit is about to come, clearcoat should now be dry enough to strip off all the masking tape. :sou

Took these pics this morning in some very 'soft' November sunlight.... No flash!
I'll be takin' a trip to Pro-Tyre tomorrow to get some rubber fitted. Still can't decide what to have put on, there's three variations in the frame at the moment;
Dunlop Arrowmax GT501, Bridgestone BT45 or Avon Roadrider's. Any thoughts :?

Steve,
Tyres wise Continental Road attack 2's they are new generation raidals for classic bikes and are supposed to be the dogs danglies,
Conti have developed them as they wanted to get back into competition but could not do it in motogp or wsb anymore so they purposely targeted the classic scene.

They have won every classic endurance race this year even beating the old dunlop race tyres am 22/23's (which have been de-riguer for years)
A mate put them on his bike and said they are great aboslutely transformed his bike.

I have not run any yet but will be ordering some shortly!!

Ok, Visited my local Pro-Tyre today & walked out in despair...... That place has really lost it's way. :no :no They'd not even heard of the new ContiClassicAttack.
The mostly empty car park seem's to suggest I'm not the only one who's lost faith with 'em.

Anyhow, stopped off at a very small local bike shop on the way home, the guy there new all about these new Conti's and will hopefully have a price for me later today. :)
