It puzzles me why they would say this.
The fact is we would only get under their feet if we just hung around the house moping.

I feel your pain with the head Lee.

Some other small progress today though. Got my new machines sprocket carrier thanks to Coose.. Had to recess the studs slightly to sink them in a little further and got it fitted. Unfortunately my straight edge doesn't fit in between the carrier and the wheel now to check alignment but looks spot on.. Will have to get something else to check with tomorrow.

Also got myself a pre made rear caliper carrier to make life a little easier, over racing one and seems excellent quality. Also easy to change the adaptor plate if I want to use something other than a brembo 2 pot, but to be honest I think I'll just run with the Brembo. I wanted AP all round but they don't seem to want to do bikes anymore and seem to have stopped making most calipers.. So will just be another hassle. The over racing carrier is pretty clever, they made it reversible so can be top or bottom mounted. I will just need to figure out a torque arm now, needs to be short and offset a bit, so standard REX one I don't think will give me any offset?

A lot of older Suzuki stuff will have an offset, I've used these in the past & it's not difficult to 'tweak' the offset.

Good tip GB! My zephyr one has right offset just way too long. Could cut it I guess but these Gixer ones look much shorter so could be worth a punt..

How about a couple of stainless rose joints and some aluminium rod?

That looks grand Lee, and I'm glad all appears to be well with the carrier. :)

Kendo on the ZRX Owners Club forum makes these in different designs. This one is for a standard ZRX1200 set-up. Quality workmanship and if I remember rightly less than £35.00 delivered. Supplied with the necessary nuts, bolts and split pins.

Mark, that looks nice. Do you have a contact for him? I could ask if he can make a bent one :)

Cheers

That's great as far as your sprocket is concerned, but sadly doesn't help your discs....
But, I wouldn't worry about a tiny bit of disc run-out. You may not feel it, and as the late, great John Robinson stated a little is no bad thing as it will push your pads away from the disc, reducing drag. You have nothing to lose in trying them....

Conversely, too much runout and you won't have enuff travel in the lever to take the slack back up and work the brake.......... just saying
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
