I'm not sure - is the short answer.

That engine is a possible amalgamation of 2 x GPZ750s and 1 x Z750 motors.

The best parts taken from all (4 most matched con rods etc) GPZ cams and new valves / guides etc etc.

I almost don;t want to fit it

That might have been me, 6 weeks and I'm still waiting for discs to be modified.
Mind you it's an excuse not to spend hours in a cold shed at the moment.
Too much snow in Kent this week.

Actually lots has been happening - but I thought I'd wait for a photo update when I get a few more thing done.

Tanl and Panels painted and they look AWESOME - cheers Flying Tiger.

Frame and engine painted - need to be collected and installed.

the hold up is with that giant rear claiper hanger - its just not cutting it.

I'm having a simpler one made with a much nicer caliper.

When thats all ready, just needs to be wired up and ready to go!

Still need to order exhaust - S/S or Ti?

I would go with Ti but need to know if it can be painted Black.

Okay guys. A bit of progress at last.

Got the frame and motor back as well a bunch of bits and pieces anodised / painted ready for a sort of pre-final assembly.

Having issues with engine mounting as I have the incorrect mount kit so need to get on that. But heres where we are.

Frame with Motor in. Engine built by Debben with new Dyna-S, new Stator, manual tensioner, APE Head Rods, stainless case bolts and new starter. Happy with seat too though I may go with a rise in the rear for support under acceleration.

Flying Tiger did an awesome job on the paint. After the 3rd test we hit the nail on the head - its a Citoroen car colour called Hickory Brown and I love it. Its awesome because in the dark it looks like gloss black almost but when the light hits it, it comes to life.

Tank and panels on.

Tank badge is genuine new.

Side panel badges are replicas - but spot on.

Next up is to sort engine mounting and start on the loom. Then just exhaust to order as the final 'part' I need. I have an idea for the silencer tho - need to mock it up.

Love the finish on the engine, what paint was it and was it baked on?

Yeah engine turned out sweet. Matt black with gloss covers. I think the covers were powder coated but the casings wre just spray painted. Don;t know if it was baked on. If you call Debbens and ask them they'll tell you. I think they were very well cleaned and smoothed over first which is why it turned out well.

So am in the process of having the forks sent off and serviced / set up for a slightly heavier bike. Any advice on this appreciated as always.

But aesthetically, I'm in a bit of a quandary.Originally I wanted the gold legs / black sliders look as standard on GSXRs and nwere Kawa sports bikes.

Like so:

But now I've seen the bike in the flesh, I'm thinking I might go with some black on black crime?

What's the the thoughts out there? I'm really leaning toward the black/black. Because then the gold accents will pop more and it will look more tough / unique / custom.

I'd leave the axle clamps in the brown/green so should look a very unique set of forks.
