July week 4 update.

After a lax couple of weeks took both A4 and Ltd for MOT

Both passed ImageImageImage

Was going to use the genuine tap off the Ltd on the A4 but ended up spotting this bargain fuel tap on the bay - £25 + postage.
Pingel tap will be going in the draw as a spare.

Peter James came up trumps with the insurance.

Paint slot gets nearer....

Registration next :bng

November week 1 update.

This restoring lark is catching
Back in August I bumped into my friend Brian at the local bike shop.

Registration didn't go as smooth as I had hoped, I was a touch disappointed to receive a 75 'N' reg despite my request for a period 'P' plate.

Anyway - as said this bike was always going to be ridden, so a gentle 500 miles of mixed running has not shown any serious issues so far.

Despite initial concerns over the valve train it has already began to settle down.
No 4 exhaust valve clearance continues to be a touch 'noisy' on occasion, I am of the opinion the NOS follower I used may be sticking slightly in the head, I have removed the follower and not found anything untoward - I'm hoping it will bed in and settle down on its own.

A slight off idle stumble has developed, fine everywhere else, just a touch when you first pull away - hopefully something that can be adjusted out.

The rear shocks have sadly loosened up a touch - this has made riding the larger bumps at speed a touch interesting! I am resisting the temptation to invest in some I can adjust.

In more exiting news.....

The paint slot is here and the transformation is well underway - Simon has sent me a few teaser pics.

Certainly going to give the bike the finishing touch.
