Getting really exciting now as the dry build progresses.
Carbs awaited from Allens, engine at Debbens and booked in at Racefit end of May.

The tear down begins.

The new engine is sat on the bike bench with most of the ancillaries attached so I've something to stare at.
Other parts are being stored out of the way until needed.

I now have a clear schedule of getting the tank dipped in preparation for paint which is booked in for around Christmas time.
The frame still needs some welds finishing before going off for paint.
Then it'll be a case of refinishing parts as and when funds allow.
This will still be a long process as money is in short supply but there will be no short cuts where quality is concerned.

I have booked my hotel room for Stafford 2015 to give myself a realistic deadline to get it all finished.

I've now covered nearly 400 miles and just carried out my first oil change.
Project updates and pictures are lacking on this thread as I have committed to giving you all something to read over the Christmas holidays. 3,500 written words should give the Zeditor something to play around with.

Having been out half a dozen times I can tell you that I have achieved everything I intended. Following my comment about the born again types ignoring me last week I have come to the conclusion that they simply don't understand what the bike is. There have been plenty of others with much knowledge asking intelligent questions about what parts come from where.

I started to open it up a bit today hitting 6,500 revs and she's a flyer. At those revs it starts to pick the front wheel up. Riding along and opening the throttle increasingly wide elicits a great noise from the carbs.

I think I've become somewhat antisocial.

I'm also pretty much determined to get to Teds Skegness run even if it is raining.

Happy? You betcha.
