Is Vic There wrote:Paul if you have a couple of picture of the fairing bracket can you post them, I have the feeling that mine aren't right.

This is the lower part of the bracket, the two upper bolts pass through the front brake splitter, two bolts pass through the fairing/rubbers and into this bracket.

Image

The lower bracket is in two parts, the second part is a dogleg piece that fastens to the headlamp for steady/adjustment.

Image

The fairing bracket at the top has two pieces, this that fastens to the top yoke

Then this bracket that would first be fastened to the fairing

As for the bike itself, I've been quite ill for a few weeks, ended up on the hospital ward at Xmas so not a great deal of progress.

Paintwork is ongoing with Si at Flying Tiger

Just ordered a set of ZRX spec YSS piggyback shocks, I will either put them straight onto the 1000R or swap the ZRX ones onto the R and put the YSS onto the ZRX.

I've ordered new forks for the R, these will be here end of next week hopefully, I have toyed with having them black diamond coated as per modern sports bikes, not a fan of chrome but I fear all black forks may be too black.

All the best, Paul

So, my new fork tubes finally arrived so after they were built up with new genuine seals I fitted them this afternoon.

Headlamp popped in but black surround needs refinished yet, just wanted to see it looking like a bike again tbh.

Wheel fitted just to mock up and balance the bike on the stand.

Picked up a 160mph speedo so fitted that as well.

No sign as yet of my rear shocks, not happy about that.

Cheers, Paul

Very nice.

I think I'm going to need a pair of headlight brackets, mine look nothing like them!

Vick, you can get a set of GPz 1100 ones but they need extending by 22mm on the the top. Or you can pay about $250 US for a proper pair - there has only been one pair on eBay in the last few months - still for sale. BTW GPz 750 are also the same headllight brackets but the fork covers have a concave bottom which the R2 and GPz dont have, but that's easily removed - also will need an extra 22mm on top. Then you need all the gromets and fork rings- not easy to find and bloody expensive
