Here's my original 650 mate .
Still standing unloved , it is complete and runs .
Noisy on the starter though but that's just another job .
It's a C3 , Harris pipe , 2:4 seat , braided hoses .
The plan is to have this one slightly modified and the silver one standard .
Just another labour of love really that i'll get on with whenever time and funds allow .

Managed to get not much further on today .
Been at my gainful employment which is always a pleasure and never a chore
Still managed to get a bit done , frosty night here again so bloody freezing in my garage .
Kept myself busy and warm by doing my pet hate ( polishing )
The exhaust headers have come up quite well with a half decent shine now .

Image

A few weeks back i picked these new silencers up from Mark ( perton pc ) to replace the horrible welded on pipes that were on it .

Image

This then threw up another problem as the 2-1 bit of my headers was 51mm and the new silencers were 40mm
I had a pair of coupling pipes made up in stainless to join both ends together .
Spent a bit of time polishing them and this is how they now look .
Not perfect i know but hopefully not an eyesore either to fix the problem ?

Hi Geoff,

Keep the pics coming - always interesting to see how people connect up the repro silencers compared to my efforts -

Kept busy at this yesterday and today .
Wiring loom now looks pretty much as it should with proper connectors and shrink sleeving .
Some previous work on it consisted of nasty connectors , wires twisted together and insulation taped,
choc block connectors and speaker wire ( i jest not )
I've done my usual extra earths that i always put in from engine to battery , engine to frame and engine through to headlight .
It may not help greatly but on these old bikes and 12V wiring i believe extra earths won't do any harm either .
Things are taking more of a shape now though , dare i say it i may be ready for the 11th
Back to work again tomorrow so i'll not achieve too much now til the weekend .
Here's where we're at as at 8 oclock tonight .
