America - Green
UK - White
Mainland Europe - Green or White

Not sure if there's anyway of identifying the original colour of a European bike, mine was imported to the UK so I guess I could have gone green but Glynn assured me the bike was originally white although it has had previous paint.

Dutch brochure, colours in specs, green & white

German brochure

I haven't got my hands on a UK brochure yet :(

"considering all the bodges & issues with the bike when you bought it ? "
WTF are you on about? Issues? bodges? A 31 year old bike that didn't even need a re=bore and only had a broken rear brake part and dodgy chain tensioner!!! Didn't even have a rusted out tank, or actually any rust at all. No stripped threads in the head here. Still with it's original cam shells, although a bit worn after 31 years, but probably never undone. Didn't need any engine work. No electrical problems. Original seat with it's origianl cover. Still had everything it left the factory with except the rear mudguard and pipes... WTF are you on about???
This is one of the least problematic restorations I have ever seen on here. Of course after 31 years, if you want to restore it you will have to dismantle and paint it at least, but READ THE THREAD. Post after post, Paul is saying things like ' still on original bore, just needed a hone, or head was in good condition....etc.
It was me who sold this bike to Paul, and I'm sure he realises he was lucky to get hold of one that hasn't been thrashed all around the around the UK so your just blowing out of your backside - I understand you want to encourage Paul, but just take a look at the pictures at the start of this thread and you go find me one like that! You will be looking a long time indeed.

I source and sell top quality original bikes, not pieced together wrecks and mongrel bikes and wont have shit like that said about anything I have sold. so don't talk crap.

Paul, yes it was originally a white one although green was available in Europe too. The brochure you posted shows an 1100 in green and I don't think the bottom picture was a production model.

Anyway, regarding the paint, I've posted a thread with the Lechler paint codes for both the white and green as well as a good Lechler supplier who is half the price of RS paints for exactly the same Lechler paint as RS sell. Lechler is top quality stuff owned by PPG. I received a liter of the green 2k this week for 2 European R2's I just had in as well as 2 sets of decals.
The original bikes had the stripes going all the way into the headlight, so look for that, I could only find that in decals for the green bikes so went with those.
They weren't lacquered over either as I found out when I jet washed another R2 and the decals came off the side=panel.
I also have the RAL number for the blue if you are going to paint the stripes but not the red yet.

Cheers Glyn, paintwork is down with Si at Flying Tiger , stripes will be painted on in original colours, good info on the fairing stripe, pic below also confirms this.

The Dutch brochure in my picture at the top does show a green 1100r but if you look at the bottom line of text under the 1000R it lists the colours.

Kleuren - Groen & Wit

Here's the rest of the German brochure that the big 1000R photo is from.

Not a lot to report, still waiting for carb/airbox rubbers to arrive, got my original bars back from powder coating, now I know it's not original black chrome but it's good enough for me and looks good, pictured below with my NOS switches.

I've now got distracted ...

Into the other garage and started 'cleaning' my 944, it rarely turns a wheel but still gets a good clean every now and then.

Latest update

The eagle eyed will notice I have swapped the speedo to a UK one, unfortunately at the time I could only locate a 150mph one, not overly concerned but if anyone has a 160mph one available I'd be interested.

Oil cooler and horns refitted

Do you mean the lower ones under the headlamp or the ones to the side of the fairing that then fasten to brackets on the upper yoke ?
