Cannot wait to see the pictures Steve. I told Joanne I had the cheap version when I ordered mine not sure she believes me so the sooner I show her pictures of yours fitted the better

OK, Once I'd finished my household chores I ventured into me garage & decided I'd scan through the instructions first.

Image

Fucking waste of time that was.

The kit comes with a low profile oil filter cover & sump drain bolt.

Image

I'd hoped to avoid fitting it for now, but soon realised that wasn't gonna happen.

Image

Took a couple of pics of the collector before fitting it, even the welding inside is beautiful. :drool :drool

Image

Image

I had had some concerns about the pipe clearing the suspension linkage, well guess what? I was right to be concerned. :ek

Image

The link pipe just touches, with the dog bone removed, so I need to resolve this. I've thought about machining the linkage to make it narrower, but then I'd really need to do the same with the swinger, which is being powdercoated.
I momentarily considered hitting the pipe with a big hammer, but that option has now been ruled out completely. Another option is to cut 20mm off of the collector & the same from the link pipe allowing everything to move 20mm further forward, however, this will further compound the other issue fitting this pipe has thrown up............
There's very little room for the footrest's. Certainly the Harris rearsets won't fit in their original position.

So I've got two options...... reposition them with new mounts, doing away with the adjustable mounting plates.

Image

Image

Or option 2 is a bit more retail therapy at Webike. :cr :rir

Anyhow, I am really happy with it, the issues it has thrown up are not too much of a challenge, although I could do without them.
Here's a couple of pics of the complete system.

Lovely piece of engineering Steve, the welds are a work of art.

Bollocks! Just spent the last 45 mins on Webike. Looks like my Harris rearset's have just got too much material on 'em already to get them in the right position for this exhaust using a new adaptor/mounting plate.

So I've pretty much narrowed it down to these;

For some reason the black ones are nearly £60 cheaper.

Sadly for me, I am 'home alone' tonight, with just the dog, a few Stella's, a curry & a bottle of 'Black Stump' to keep me company..................

................... I could be a little poorer by tomorrow morning :ek :ek

Thats good to know Ian. Worked out the price difference is with or without master cylinder. If you get chance could you tell me what the m/c mounting centres are please?

Those rear sets are nice. How much are they? I think I will get some for my bike.

No need Brian,
I can let you have a set of quality Harris rearsets with bespoke mounting plates for a lot less.

I did contact Steve via text with the site being down but just for information in case any others are interested in the rearsets the master cylinder mounting points are 50mm centre to centre.

Looking good Steve.

Yes the Nitro Racing rearsets are beautifully made, strong and as Ian says not too high or far back. With the master cylinder you get the reservoir and all the spacers you need to mount it.

Sanctuary style is the new nirvana :D

I took my pipe off for the first time today. Light just does not do it justice :o

:drool ive said many time before that personally i think the rounded down pipes suit the rounded tank z1's best. its what i would have for sure. This budget zed is coming on nicely Bear, i think with all the bits youve bought for the bike youve made a "stella" choice mate :cheek has the colour been talked about yet :?:

Chris, thanks for the feedback on the rearsets, I will get my order in later today, for the full monty, including m/c. Good to know it comes with reservoir as wel, they don't mention that in the 'gumph'.

Mick, you need to go back to page 7 for an idea on colour...... Obviously you've not been keeping upl :smak
