Now the Z1.1 (Z1B 1974 with Gpz1100 a3 engine) is on her way back together with a few modifications
Mainly rectifying some bad build decisions made by original builder.....

Got some nice Baby Face rear sets.... a lovely PMC hand bent s/s Exhaust
new wiring complete....mods to the forks, rear shocks, swing arm,New clocks and mod to the top yoke to make them fit.

the list goes on !!

Lord only knows what the original builder was thinking about some of the things i had to put right.......

I'll be back with a bit of an update of things that needed to be done with pics.... and process of the build take 2

some pics here of when i bought the bike, looks cool.... till you get a bit closer :/.

Both look good. I'm hopefully close to finishing my SR as well, not too many around.

The SR is sweet, well chuffed that I got it back together... a lot of work but its just a sweet cruise, one that will stay standard I think.

The custom z1 though on the other hand is a different kettle of fish
I was , I think all to excited to get it back home when I went to buy it that I didnt look as closely as I should of at the time.

lots and lots of short cuts made in the original build from brackets made from off cuts of ali to mount the clocks (awful)...
Wiring that would make ya hair stand on end (dangerous)
It just had to come apart and redo a lot of silly silly build errors

One thing , the side stand hit the ground when deployed....the bike was not high enough !
So extend the forks, and as for the rear end you would need to see it to belive it.

I will take some pics of the bad stuff and my attempt to rectify them and post
Very soon

You've done a great job their on the SR :up

The Z1 /GPZ looks to have some very very nice parts on it already and your adding some quality parts to them - it'll be a cracking bike when its put together 'properly'. Keep us posted on progress :pop

Thx sanderz,

Just a couple of things to finish... going to get the seat recovered and new strap ,also the bars are slightly blemished .

The pics of the z1/Gpz are VERY deceptive ! some of the mods are even laughable, the builder was obviously in a rush.

doing some work on that today .... pics coming.
