For those of you interested in fuel injection, DTA have recently upgraded the firmware (V71) for their FI boxes to include a much higher upper limit for engine temperature compensation..... what does this mean?
If you've got a cylinder head temp sensor on your air cooled motor the DTA system now allows for control over the sort of upper temperature range you will see - this is much higher than for a water cooled motor (160 deg C is not uncommon).
You can now change fuel air ratio and ignition timing when the motor gets very hot- useful when in town and in traffic on a hot day- previously the system was blind to these higher temps and the engine would get progressively more unhappy and get hotter as you used more revs to keep it smooth- eventually you just had to stop.
