In between biblical downpours I managed to get into the garage and press on a bit with build on ST No.1

Image

Thats the new shiny headlamp on [whilst the original is being blasted and sprayed at Griffs with the clock covers], Carbs ( renewed back to their former glory by young Mr Ralph @ Bikerstoolbox thank you!) and the K&Ns fitted at long last.

Image

Cut down tail piece has been sprayed and lacquered at work as best I can do and that is now on, awaiting somewhere /one I can get a numberplate made up from with a Z1OC -Vendetta761 strip on the bottom rather than the local garage name etc, anyone know where I can get one that is road legal ?

Image

Just the exhaust, rear pegs+ brackets [off to Mikeys for a polish up] and seat and panels to fit then the tank goes on .
Am hoping Ralph can sort me a gel battery through Bikers tool box otherwise it may be a Motobatt from Busters and then time to fire her up!

Any of the ebay number plate sellers will put your logo/message on the bottom of the plate (usually at no extra cost).
They do any plate from legal size to microscopic.

Thanks Paul, high praise indeed! :)
Am hoping we can sort something out with some of your Marzocchi bits and the rest of mine so I can cobble something together and replace the shocks I have on there ?
Good to meet you at Stafford and put a face to name!

That is starting to look really good, keep it up. Great to see someone doing something different and I like the idea of starting with multiple donor bikes. Great to meet you at Stafford and looking forward to seeing the finished bike/s.

Thanks Paul, it was good to meet you too and thanks again for trading the Harris exhaust , very much appreciated.
I offered the exhaust up to St No.1 today in a spare half hour and rather than the usual case of 2 hours fighting with a set of bagpipes having a wrestle with an octopus and the associated swearing and shouting , it all slipped into place in 5 mins !
Just got to sort out a little bracket in stainless to hang of the rear footpeg and I am there , whilst I am on footpeg s, anyone know or a good source for replacement rubbers or alternative pegs complete?

Taking the boy to football this morning bought me an extra 2 hours in the garage from the long haired general , so as well as fitting the Harris exhaust to ST. No.1 , I stripped down Olive ( ST No.2 ].

Image

Will lean her over tomorrow and get the engine out of the frame, REDBEARD has 1st dibs but otherwise is no use to me, my trusty steed for 22 years was sentenced to the scrappy by DVLC.

Image

Managed a quick 20 mins with ST No.3, tried out the Tommaselli adjustable ace bars on her for feel and looks.
Like the feel, still working on the looks, will definitely change the rear end and save up for some Tarozzi rear sets:

Image

Looks like ST No.3 will become ST No.2 anyhow as all that left of Olive is the lump and I am thinking of sending her to Tim Blakemore for a rebuild if Santa looks after me well this Xmas.

It's all coming together nicely Adam , i'm sure i've got a square front footpeg rubber .
I'll see if i can root it out .
I did have a pair of them but it looked like a dog had one of them so i threw it

I get my number plates off this guy

I've not got any with logo off him but i'm sure it's little work/money extra .

Ha Ha Ha, nice one Geoff, funnily enough he is the very same guy I picked out of the 100,s on ebay last night after zed1015s recommendations ! :D
Was grand to meet you at last at Stafford, thanks again for everything, I would not be where I am without you and the rest of the club members who have helped me on my quest.
I hope I can live up to expectations and do you all good service by rolling out a few good STs.

Sorry , no updates or pix recently, have been ill and off work so times are hard again and have had to sell the ebay ST but I got what I paid for it almost but kept a couple of good bits off it for ST No.2 project.
That means I should adjust the thread to ST x 2 until I can afford to buy another to play with.

ST No.1 just needs a battery when I get some cash again and it will be up and running for a fettle by Ralph hopefully or if he is too busy then Tim Blakemore, depends on timing and cash flow but definitely to get sorted for spring time.

ST No.2 has had the ace bars removed as I just did not like the look of them and am hunting for a set of Tarozzi clip ons 2nd hand but otherwise will have to head to DiscoVolante [thanks Taffus].
Have tacked the frame changes for the rear end and now need to keep hunting for someone to repair my Marzocchi Stradas or sell me a 2nd hand set.

As soon as I am back on my feet I will take pixs of progress, cheers ! :D

Ha Ha, finally got well enough to get back to work and earn some dosh to finish ST No.1, she is now up and running and taxed and tested.

Image
A big thank you to Roysten at REPS, Griffs paint works , Ralph for carb strip and rebuild and general assistance and wise words, of course Mikey for lots of shiny things and Z1parR for all his help and bits and bobs.
Lots more people to thank, I could not have got here with out you!
Image
I took her out for a run today to pop down to Tim Blakemores to arrange a Dyno test and proper carb set up for her and he had just taken delivery of a container of Kawasaki triples from the US, wow , WOW!

Image

Got to put a couple of hundred miles on to run her in and then after the Dyno she will be ready for the summer !

She is almost all there, when I have some spare cash i will paint the wheels and I am alos looking for a set of rear foot pegs, best put an ad in Wanted.

Thanks to everyone on the site for your help and your encouragement!

Now, to ST No.2 ..........ah ha !
