I have a new ignition switch which I will fit, the one in the photo came with the original bike. The new one is not fitted as I have been thinking about reducing it from six wires to two. I have never used the parking light function in 30 years of riding bikes so I just want a simple on/off function which only needs two wires. But that means unsoldering four wires, dismembering the block connector and fitting a new smaller 2-way connector. It's probably the right answer but it's not something I am especially looking forward to. I don't like the threaded black plastic lock nut, so I had a new one made in knurled alloy, which you can see in the dash pic.

The seat arrived from Japan about a week earlier than I expected. It fits really well and the quality is much much better than the UK one I fitted before. The seat pressing is very smooth and its sits completely level. I am also very happy with the shape, although I will probably still get it recovered. I have finished the hydraulics (although it's still dry at the moment) and sorted out a bracket for where the rear hose passes the side of the swingarm. The torque arm bolt was in just the right location so I bought a stainless P clip, trimmed it with a dremel and moved the rubber sleeves that Venhill fit on the hoses to suit. I have also completed the speedo sensor cable. The supplied cable was a really thin 2 core so I covered it in heatshrink and then used some adhesive shrink where the cable joins the sensor for protection and strain relief.

Now that I have a seat I like, I wanted to see how it all looks, so I took some photos. The wiring is about 50% done. I am going to remove the existing wires from the handlebar switches and run new thinner ones. The m-unit only uses the switches for a very low signal current so you don't need heavy gauge and I can lose the surplus circuits at the same time. I think I can reduce the size of the overall cable harness from each switch by about 2/3 which will look much neater. This also means I can put the connector blocks just where I want them, which is behind the coils, where they will stay warm and dry.
So, 'all' that's left is finish the wiring, install the lights, bleed the hydraulics, fit a chain, sort out the rear tail tidy, trim the side panels, sort out a reservoir for the rear master cylinder. There's an oil cooler on the way which has been a complete nightmare, but that's another story.
Thanks for all the positive comments, hope you like the way it looks. Visually it's about 95% now.
