Ok, the bike is almost ready for the road, so I'm going to put up some pics of what has been done. Here's what I started with.

The bike had been stored in a shed that had no door or window, it would have been as well being outside! He said it had lain ther for about 8 years. I bought it without hearing it running, always a concern, but it turned over on the kick start and felt like it had compression so I wasnt too worried.

I have never been good with spanners etc. and that's why I'm always amazed at what you guys buy and what you end up with!
Such amazing dedication and knowledge, I am so envious!

I am with you shrek. You look at these amazing projects and think wow, then envy with a touch of depression kicks in :twisted:

Time and money are the main factors followed by 'the know how' or the 'know who'.

Tried on a set of USD forks and yokes and found that the forks hit the tank - time for new yokes!

When Fer saw I was fitting an USD front end and wider wheel rims, he said 'Yi cannae use the standard swingerm - fit a ZRX yin' So he sourced one for me, this is it wedged into the frame.

Hubs powder coated, nice new stainless spokes and wider alloy rims

Powder coated in in my favourite colour. Starting the re-build

Engine painted using PJ1 satin paint. There is nothing inside the cases, I just bolted it together to save masking up the mating surfaces etc.

There was a LOT of cash spent on the engine.... new camchain and liska billet guide sprockets, tensioner, valve guides, 1mm oversize stainless valves, honed barrells, rings, new clutch plates, alloy camcover end cap things etc. The valve guides and valve cutting was done by Debben.
Should be a good motor now.
