I know it is not a very original project but judging on the number of J,R and Z projects on here at the moment , another one is not going to harm !
At long last my bike is back on the road after its latest makeover and a summer of frustration chasing a misfire that turned out to be a partially sticking choke.
I have had my B2 since 2011 and have been slowly improving and repairing it since. I was pleased with the result, but the poster I still have of my 1100r in my workshop was always a reminder of something special .

Image

I had sold my 1100r with CMA wheels in 1995 but with an amazing stroke of luck I managed to get back the original 18 inch wheels from it ,at which point a plan was hatched .
This is not a perfect no expense replica ( although it has cost double what I had anticipated ) and as the purists (and 1100r owners) will probably spot has quite a few non 1100r parts dotted about . Front mudguard and forks are from a 1000r , carbs are the wrong colour, a few B2 bits are still visible and a few period mods have also been done. However from a few metres you cannot really tell and I built it for me and not to sell . You really cannot beat that colour combination of Lime Green and gloss black.

Image

I resisted the temptation to have green wheels again , no chance of a TUV for a Harris 4/1 , the deep brace JMC had to make way for a Metmachex ( centre stand still fits ) indicators and grab rail back on and the original fairing was always nicer than a twin headlight one I had previously had.

Image

No B2 parts were harmed in this build and are all stored away in the cellar including the paintwork , and that should be it , but in a shed in a garden in Bath my brother is assembling the Debben prepared 1170 unitrak motor ready to go in for next year , roll on 2017.

The containers I have stored at the bottom of the garden, they are full of all the NOS Kawasaki spares I have had shipped in from around the world ............
Not really, just dreaming . Out at the weekend , past the docks in Mannheim , sun was shining interesting back drop !

Have you been to Ludwigshafen Chris or just passed by ? Not top of many peoples sightseeing trips . Chemical works look good at night though as you whizz past on the autobahn .

A very nice job that. I have to agree the lime green paint really does go well with the black engine. Well done mate.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone. Its now off the road for winter ( you have to fit snow tyres here if there is any white precipitation about ) and the amount of salt that ends up on the roads could cause your bike to melt !

I must have missed this before now.

Yes Ludwigshafen was one of my stops on the way down to Italy back in 1985

I hope you had a good reason Chis to stop at Ludwigshafen , there are a few nicer places in the region if you are on the way to Italy !

Actually it may have been Mannheim as all the signs said Ludwigshafen/Mannheim and we just stopped, completely knackered at the first hotel we could find.

Bike looks great by the way.
