Ref the rebuild - the black silencer bracket wrapping round the shiny silencer stands out a little. Could it be chromed or zinced or bright silver painted - to blend in with the can ??
Bet Dave at exhaust craft could knock you up a stainless one.

Mine suffered the exact same issue with the zpower supplied headlight on Friday too!!!
