Cheers for the comments as we all know we set our selves a budget and it all goes pear shaped. There is always something comes along and projects get put on the back burner.I did think about selling but i got that much stick,so i decided to sell my xr650 as it wasnt getting used and put some of the money int the zed.In the past i start doing things to it and stop as i am not happy with how its going probly down to trying to do things on a budget. The ignition is Mistral engineerings prototype which i managed to buy off them. They used to be Jim Wells and John Carpenter developed the ignition. It looks nice but is a bit of a pain.It runs a single coil to a dolomite sprint distributer and is belt driven off the cam Lucas Rita ignition box with the limiter set at 10,000rpm .I am thinking of changing to a dyna set up but keeping the mistral casing.Like we all know these bikes never seem to be finished you sit and look see another bike which gives you ideas. If i could give any advice it would be do it to the best you can afford if its an exhaust or full blown special i have seen lots of specials that are sold to repay the credit card bill they have run up doing there bikes. So since getting inspired again i can count myself lucky after 23 years i still own it.Well thats probly bored you all have a goo day
Cheers Ade

ADE, your explanation of why you decided to keep your Zed instead of selling it after 23 years,
didn't bore me in the slightest personally speaking.
Have a great time out and about on it, nice one mate.

Got fed up waiting for paint work so i put the old bodywork back on minus the front mudgaurd. Not an MOT issue apparently, not sure on the road.iT It passed the MOT guy was climbing all over it as it had not been MOTed for a number of years. Two advisorys front pads near to the limit and exhaust a little noisey.paint work is in primer and hoping to get it back in a couple of weeks
