Area Groups
As the result of a request we are going to try a system of areas groups to allow those organising local meetings to easily notify those who might be interested in attending such events that they are on. It's a bit experimental at this stage so we'll see how it goes but take it as a work in progress. Here's how it'll work:
We don't want an area group for every town in the country so by and large we thought we'd try and set it up in a similar way to the existing area rep system, and to work in conjunction with that. In the first instance any area rep who wishes to set up a group can contact the Administrator, and the group will be set up. There will be a list of groups - probably here to start with- and if there's one for your area and you want to be kept in touch then contact the area group co-ordinator whose name will be displayed and ask to join the group. Then when the group co-ordinator or rep is organising a meeting it will be easier to PM everyone in the group to keep them aware of the meeting, or to spread other local news to the group. Likewise if someone want off the group list ask the group co-ordinator. I'm making a distinction between area rep and group co-ordinator here because if a rep doesn't want to manage the group and can find someone else to do it then that's up to him. If you live in an area where you are holding meetings and there is no rep for the area, or he doesn't come on the board, contact the administrator in the first instance if you think there is a group organising meetings that could avail of the system and a volunteer to run the group and we'll see what we can do. In the event of a rep that doesn't use the board, and there are some, Jerry will speak to the rep, or the local group can, but he'll need to be involved. Don't know if this will work but we can but try. Any questions PM me.
If your are interested in being kept informed of meetings in an area with a group mailing list PM the co-ordinator by clicking on their link. Groups so far are:
Kent. Area rep and Group co-ordinator: Barry Shaw
Norfolk and Suffolk Area rep and Group co-ordinator: Geoff Meager
North West England. Area rep: Dave James . Group co-ordinator: lta01
South West England. Area rep and Group co-ordinator: Ralph
North East Lincolnshire. Group Co-Ordinator Ted1r

great idea
Now that is a great idea--just surfacing at the right time too
Just had a good ride out upto Rivington Barn with Loz (Ita01) today, both bikes did ok.
Lots of Rozzers about to put a spoiler on things--one under cover/ unmarked BMW 330 and loads of cameras.
Any way the idea is a good un-- sign up.

there you go
Floyd,
Thats going to be a great reason for this to get off the ground.
If us North West lads had known what was organised, then we could all attend same venue if we wished to.
We would all have the opportunity.
I look forward o bumping into you at one of the North West meets.

Excellent idea, our main stumbling block will probably be that we will never keep everybody happy with covering such a huge geographical area, in theory between Stafford and Carlisle (north to south). Still I'm sure not all of us would be able to make every run anyway.
Here's a few ideas as well as Devils Bridge and Rivvy Barn
Glasson Dock
Whitchurch truck stop
Ponderosa Cafe
Feel free to add any others you can think of.

Hi Bakey,
you are in the north west group , just by being in the club, all it means is we might meet up somewhere in the north west sometime, though anyone from anywhere can come along. everyone is welcome. etc etc.
whitchurch truckstop is good (lynns raven cafe, its got its own website) i went to the streetfighter day in 2007, even got a piccy of my helmet (crashelmet) on the website. They have 2 or 3 meetings there each year so would be ideal maybe for the midlands lot to meet aswell.

Great idea Floydsz1, would be good to meet up with the Midlands lot too.
Lynn's Raven Cafe can be found at www.lynnsravencafe.co.uk, postcode is SY13 2AF for those with sat nav. Easy to find as it's right on the A49/A41 split just south of Whitchurch.
There's no dates on the site yet for Streetfighters meet, but I suspect the first one will be early May.

Great idea having a NorthWest Group. As Northwest is such a huge area and Lancashire arguably the best county in the country i have noticed from VMCC membership that sometimes the the NorthWest gets split into for example - Central Lancs. I'm not suggesting we does this at all as there are limited Z1 members.
Anyway, for all those interested in old bikes. I have a good friend who has a collection of classic bikes, mostly brit but some others occasionally. I know we could pop along any weekend for a nosy. A lot of his bikes are flat tankers and girder fork bikes. He's very knowledgable about his pre war stuff.
So if anyone is interested let me know.
