Went to the Bristol Classic Bike Show yesterday which is the first bike show I've been to in about 30 years. Wasn't what I was expecting as the the show seemed to be aimed at the Brit bike scene.

Saw some nice Z1A and Bs, but no Z1s or Z900s there, here's a few photos on a rather nice Z1A - does it belong to a Z1OC member?

There were four Z1's this year and I think I'm right in saying, that is four more than 2016 and three more than 2015.
Not that I'm biased, but the Z1 (especially the Z1B in red) is still the most handsome bike of all.

Nice z1 , not mine though. It did have original pipes . Only saw 3 Z1a's in the show and one won an award (not mine though!). The one that won was exactly the same as mine but did have better chrome and polishing. Is the owner on here? Really disappointed not to win anything but never mind. The Z1 that won was with a really nice H2 as well. Quite a few smaller 2 stroke Kawasaki but was mainly vintage Brit stuff. Got to hand it to some of them, they obviously love their bikes as much as we love ours. Very interesting (from an engineering point of view) Norton V8

Really nice example, corky, you should be proud of it.

Don't get too upset about not winning anything. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why some bikes get awards at shows. My Jota got second Best Continental and I hadn't even got round to cleaning it.

Show was a bit different this year, I thought, with less bikes on display particularly in the main hall. Whoever decided to put companies selling drones etc in the main hall needs shooting. Perhaps some clubs/companies dropped out in the last month or so.

Corky,

I stood admiring your bike for some time; the best colour for a Z1A in my opinion but with a dead phone I couldn't take any photos! Some guy even ask if we could take his photo standing next to it.........FWIW, the candy red wasn't a patch on yours, his H2 was nice though.

But then I saw the Norton Wankle behind yours and just had to wander off and look in disbelief, given the Suzuki RE5 flopped, so what did Norton do - they decided to bring out their own...........bizarre!

Cheers for the kind words Andrew. See you are from Farnham. Going to the show had a fun 6am detour down the A3 to cut across through Farnham to join the M3, as it was closed from the M25. Following my nose in the rain trying not to end up in Portsmouth!
