Paul. I will call later today and collect the ticket for him.

Maine, Paul Mc and myself will make our way there in our own good time.

So the day didn`t start too well.

An overflow on No 2 carb meant I had to stop within a couple of miles from home and take off the fuel bowl. Luckily Bunny had a socket set as I managed to drop the needle valve down the little hole that goes in to the front sprocket area. Half an hour later and the rubbish was cleared and we were underway again.

We met Paul McEleney at the local Triumph dealership and pressed on through a deer park and then along a lovely A road for most of the way to Knebworth. Just a little bit of Motorway but a great ride in.
Jerry had given us tickets but a lesson for next year may be to get some kind of stand together. The show itself is in fantastic grounds with all the facilities you could ever wish for but it is always weather dependent.

Paul Mc entered the custom section and managed a runner up spot. Winner was a Gold Wing that was painted white but otherwise stock. (from what I could see at least) Now Paul often complains about not winning any trophies. He missed out at the Bucks rally this year by one vote. He nearly missed out on a trophy this year as he was in the tea tent when they called his category. Luckily Garth (GotaZ1B) pushed his bike into the arena and he got the award.

We all entered the Kawasaki section. Runner up was a stock, and very pretty, ZZR1100. Winner ? Well of course it was Maine :D The bloke with an overdone Z1 wasn`t happy

We met another chap called Paul who turned up on the Z Power Goose bike.

Other categories continued and we heard them call for best in show. Maine couldn`t be arsed he said as we were in the tea tent by then but having ushered him along we managed to get him into the arena just as they were putting it to a public vote. He nicked it right at the end

A great day out with a good ride there and back. Good company, good laughs and sunny weather to boot.
