Rally Germany 2010 (16-18 July)

#1 PostAuthor: tlc » Sat Jan 02, 2010 4:05 pm

Information relating to this rally will be posted soon, in the meantime if anyone is interested in attending they can express their interest here or give me a PM.

It is at Schleswig Holstein which is in the far North of Germany close to the Danish border. I have included a google map.

For those that were at last years rally you will know how good that was.
For those that were unable to make it to Hannover I can tell you that rally organisation is a serious business for our continental cousins but high jinks are very definately on the menu.

A more welcoming bunch of guys you could not wish to meet :D

:D It's highly recomended :D
Last year there wasn't any rally in Schleswig. The last one, and their first was two years ago. But anyway, I was thwere, and I visited the Warstein Rally last year. I can recomend you all to visit our german friends. I've already promised them to join them in Schleswig, and I think I go for Warstein this year too. Hope to see you :D

Deffo thinking about it TLC just Googled it at 400 miles from Rotterdam.I`ll need the big tank for this one  And if its half as good as Hannover it`ll be fantastic, that was the best long weekend I`ve had in a long while. :D

I think it would be a good idea to stop overnight on the way.

Hamburg is quite close and is a large city with all the typical distractions you would associate. Going on the Wednesday evening would give us an overnight stop there and a relaxing ride to Schleswig on the Friday afternoon. Likewise on the way back we could have an afternoon / evening on the way back if we take the Monday evening ferry. Hotels there seem to be upwards of £60 for a single room per night and transport in German cities is excellent with a tram or bus service meaning that a stay well away from the city centre won`t mean missing out on bars and restaurants.

When Peter or Amir have furnished me with all the information I will look into the options available.

if you will plan the route from rotterdam all zed heads are welcome at my home for overnight stay to move together on friday. my home is directly near the dutch border on the way to schleswig about 200 km from rotterdam. why to pay for hotel, my home is your home  by the way we can warm up with some cups of lamonade :D

guenni is my neighbour (2.nd place best bike in hannover  ) and i´m sure he will be happy to see you too.

think about it, no payment for hotel makes more beer at the main street :P :P
