As Mrs mine host was such a sour puss this year I have found a new venue for 2010 so Mick can swear as much as he likes with out buying a rescue helicopter.

The new venue is the Waggon and Horses. They have bike nights every week and so understand the needs of us two wheeled yobbos  http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=BA4+4LA&spn=0.005,0.02&hl=en

I had struck up a deal with another place but their camping was tres expensive £8/night/pitch plus £2/person/night, I haggled them down to £5/person/night but this still worked out a tenner a head.

The Waggon and Horses have a sound attitude and we will have the sklittle alley with darts and pool table at our disposal. Our camping will be free gratis providing we eat drink and make merry ... think we can manage that eh :D :D :D :D

It's a bit out in the middle of nowhere so I'm not too sure about very close B&Bs, but after camping this year myself I think we'll do it again .... it's loads cheaper

We have been considering having a curry night this year. They could do us a sort of curry buffet if we wanted on the Saturday night which I could include in the ticket price, perhaps an alternative dish for those who a perverse enough not to like curry  Please give me feedback on this issue.

I'm rather in two minds about a live band this year as it was well difficult to get a decent band without sending a lot of dosh we didn't have. Bands that play 70's covers tend to charge a lot of money, and frankly unless I raise the ticket price substantially it's not gonna happen. I can easily get a PA again and plug in an iPod or CD deck. The other problem is that bands tend to play pretty loud as the guitars etc have to be amplified to match the level of the drums and this year some of out elderly and infirm members found this a tad loud for their aged ears   Perhaps I can have some feedback on this - actually I'll do a tandem thread with a poll :D

If there's anything you want at the rally or you think would make it better please let me know, and if practical I'll give it a go :D

Wow!! get in the diary early Ralph!! :more :beer

Well done - it gives me a better chance of beating the clash with the family holiday booking.

Happy with traditional pub-grub or a curry buffet - either are equally unhealthy :gom - but sound ok to me :mmm

Cheers.
