BIKEFEST 2009

All bikers are invited to BIKEFEST 2009 - a full-throttle motorcycle event in Hertfordshire where they can try their hand at activities such as off-road motorcross and slow speed control competition . Trade stands from all the well known bike manufacturers, equipment retailers and training and track day providers will be there on the day. A fun day out for all motorbike fans.

The event, hosted by Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, will be held in the grounds of Longfield Training and Development Centre, Hitchin Road, Stevenage, on Sunday, 23rd August, 2009, with ample parking for motorbikes and cars provided at John Henry Newman School, which is located next door.


Big name bike manufacturers such as BMW and H**** and many more will be represented at the show and some of the latest bike technology will also be on display.

Spectators can also see the demonstration of a cutting edge inflatable crash jacket that expands to protect the neck and back in the event of an accident.

More than 2,000 people are expected to attend.

Other activities will include:
Herts Air Ambulance landing and taking off from the event
• A fashion show of leathers and safety gear for men and women
• Demonstrations of the new style inflatable crash jacket
• A slow speed control course
• Examples of different styles of riding gear involved in crashes between 30 and 180mph
• A awesome raffle with prizes that include 2 Pairs of paddock passes to British Superbikes, a trail riding day worth £195.00, and much more
• 20 confirmed stalls including big-name manufacturers BMW, H****, and Draggin Jeans
• A specialist women’s bike clothing stand from Hitchin based Girls Bike 2
• Rider safety stalls
• Fire engines to look around
• Numerous fire rider safety demonstration

“This is a great opportunity for bikers to view the latest safety products available and pick up some valuable safety information,â€￾ said County Councillor Keith Emsall, Executive Member for Community Safety and Culture.

"The purpose of the event is to have fun but to remind motorcyclists just how vulnerable they can be."
