twisted oak nr exeter!! TUES 25TH AUGUST, 7PM ish!!
Hi all, the owners of the twisted oak are interested in getting a bike club meeting going, they have 2 different car clubs meet there at present but the landlord loves bikes and is hoping to get a bike club to meet there. The suggested nights are a tuesday, wednesday or a friday, has a large carpark, good ales (or coffee) let me know if any of you are interested and how often we could meet up, fortnightly, monthly etc. There is an area for peeps to camp if required!

went to calstock for the saturday night, should have asked if anyone on here was going! as soon as we know a rough idea of numbers we could arrange a meet at the twisted and arrange something more regular with the landlord?? be good to meet you guys, only downside is my zed is rebuild is still ongoing
still sourcing parts, want the engine stripped and checked/rebuilt/bead blasted-polished, have never done one before and worried i could get in to deep doing myself, trouble is still no job and quotes ive had to strip for me are way to high at present
so may have no choice but to try and do it myself

adrian71, A Zed engine is very basic and a full rebuild is not beyond the capabilities of most people with even a little mechanical knowledge, although at first it may seem a little daunting to some. If circumstances dictate that you do it yourself, I would advise you to do everything in a methodical manner and use a digital camera to take pictures of every bit prior to removing, these would be useful for reference at the rebuild, also you can always get advice on this site if needed, I think you'll find it a lot easier than you may think.
PS. You will need a decent manual, preferably a genuine Kawasaki one.

Thanks steven, im most worried about the cam-chain and getting timing wrong on rebuilding, however i know i can get advice on here at any stage and the satisfaction of doing it myself would be great
