Away from Avon Park and Santa Pod its probably the best of the rest of the independents from those i have been to so far.
Been the last three years and its attracted the likes of Rick Brett, Triples club, Zeds, mad sh1t, John Hobbs (Hobbit) and this year they have redacted the four wheelers and included the straightliners 'circus' class which promises to be a triumph or a disaster depending on what the conditions of the day allow!!!

Many changes to class structures which sounds daunting but basically they have 'cleaned up their act' and stopped people racing in street legal; with NOs and bolt on speed amongst other restrictions for other definitions.

I need to sort out a proper camera before going but may go and being a run what you brung event may even give it a go myself after year before lasts event where my bike raced 21 runs without me and got me home on two cylinders eventually!

Easy to find and get to and well laid out on site. Well catered for and well attended, its only a tenner to get in and represents good value for money in my opinion.
Great site for a picnic too if you're in a car!!!!!!!

Hello Pigford, sorry for the late reply as not been on here too much lately. I know you are now doing Weston Zoyland, and that Al (Zorded) is going to that on the Sat and then the Berkshire meet on the Sun. But i`ll be going to North Weald this Sunday, so if anyone else is going then pop by and say hello. Good luck for tomorrow Piggy, let us all know what your times are, and of course i expect the now obligatory videos from Al!
On another similar note, anyone going to Wroughton on the 16th August for the VMCC Sprint? It`s open to all bikes whatever year, and you can do a day entry too, well worth a visit.

Hi Andy..... Due to pressure from Al, I went to W Zoyland today.... :P

First time on the track.... Great stuff... super weather (bit red faced) and great tagging along with Barry (J - Turbo) for a few runs.

Barry had a few issues with a hi-rev miss-fire....

This was my first sprint since Santa Pod (last Sept) but ran an 11.57 @ 109 mph.

Some great bikes - Douglas, Levis, Nortons, Trumpets (500 supercharged), Norton, Japs.. etc. Had a chat with Mr Parnell (The Mr Parnell of Kawasaki 70's fame). He was running his ZX10 at 9.3's 150 mph :D

Al (Zorded) has taken some footage, so should be on watchable soon

Good luck tomorrow Andy....

Well it was a cracking day at North Weald, excellent weather, loads of bikes and lots of friendly people. The straighliners round being held there at the same time really made it interesting too, with a far wider selection of bikes than the obligatory Turbo Busa`s i was expecting! Everying from very quick old Lambrettas to a supercharged B- King, plus most others in between, not really that many Busa`s at all, not that i`ve anything against them mind, it was just a pleasant surprise. :)
My first run was a relatively take it easy short shifting run, and to my surprise was a 10.50 @ 132mph! :D 2nd run was pretty much the same, 10.55 @ 135mph,then i did a 10.7 a 10.8 and a 10.9 due to giving it a lot more beans and just getting loads of wheelspin. I then did a 10.47 @ 132mph and another 10.50 @ 135mph, so decided to quit while ahead. :)
I was unfortunately beaten in my class (road legal unlimited) by a Katana 1400cc Turbo who did a 9.7 i think, so i didn`t stand a chance. Although his first run was 10.7, so for a few minutes i thought it might be my day, that was soon shattered as he came flying past me doing his 9 sec run!
I did do a a couple of runs against Mark who was being greedy and racing 2 x Zeds there, one 1200 cc fairly standard, the other 1200cc but more highly tuned and with nitrous (although not using it on the day). I won`t say who won  , but one run was very close, and the sound of 2 x Zeds on Vance & Hines open drag pipes was something to behold!
So there you go, a great day with the bike behaving and going quicker than i expected which was a plus! Oh and top time of the day was (i think) an 8.60 @ 160 by a.......yes you guessed it, Turbo Hayabusa!
