Seems to me that there are a lot of guys out there who run respectable machines and who are members of the club who would probably be happy to have their bikes on the club stand. Me included. But my bikes neither immaculate or standard. The costs involved in returning an old scrubber back to concourse are extremely prohibitive for most of us but out of the ashes I've built something that I'm quite proud of on an extremely tight budget. It also has to work for its keep fifty thousand and climbing, all weathers. My point is, it's a club stand so why limit dispays solely to the few who own concourse bikes when there are loads of us who don't. You would probably find yourselves with a lot more machines to choose from if you didn't Jerry. Much respect Jerry but I feel quite strongly about this.
Good point Russ, but must admit, Jerry does include the odd non-standard when there is enough space. As the shows are flying the flag for Z1OC it is a fair deal to have the more immaculate bikes as first dibs
I do prefer to see the modded bikes tho, this goes for any make, except H***A's & M***D's of course

And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

look guy's I spoke to Jerry this evening
five bikes is all he has on the stand
now it gets better
two of them belong to Dai Griffith's
two of them belong to Paul Scanlon
and that leave's one other
so three club member's is the sum total of the support Jerry has in this area
Jerry would gladly take clean tidy modified bike's
probably within six miles of this event there are six Zed's but why are some not supporting this event(and I heard this from another source)
the reason I feel strongly about this is basically I think not only does poor attendance let Jerry down but it also let's the club down
it's not too late to up the stake's here
Jerry would appreciate the support

way too many Zeds
Paul,
I think a lot of us just assumed that only mint standard or some thing special like a Rickman Harris etc were wanted. I am sure now that its clear tidy modified bikes are welcome, more will be offered in future. Probably a bit too late for this meet. I would be glad to offer my Z900 once complete.
Steve stop trying to wind everyone up!!! we all know your a nice guy really

I totally agree with Russ on this whilst it is of course great to have one or two concourse bikes on the stand it would be preferential to also include not only modded bikes but also normal daily use bikes which would be more representative of the majority of bikes in this or most other clubs for that matter,it would also demonstrate the fact that these bikes are just as useable now as they ever were.Personally as much as I love to see a concourse bike I can go to a museum to see them any time but I cant to see in detail a good modified or working motorcycle,I do think that earlier requests would have been off putting to many owners who probably would have been more than forthcoming in offering their bikes if they had considered them good enough to fall within the parameters set by the original posts.

it must have been a good stand by the z1 owners club as i finally joined!!
steve f. the triples club (as you already know)were invited to do the show but declined. having done sammy miller day week before last, triples rally last week, and some of the members drag racing in the kawasaki triples challange at shakey county next week we decided we cant do everything.as this show was last on the already full calender we opted out.
unfortunately we cant do everything and as in most clubs it is the usual crew who do all the events
nowt to stop you bringing or showing one of your bikes at any of these events as a club member or as a private entry
