Great weekend, good company, food, beer and zyder, some spectacular hangovers :vis. Managed not to rain after everyone had arrived

Contrary to what Mr Pigford had to say there were 20 Zeds and a stray FJ1200 :!:

See you all again soon :)

Thanks to all who came and supported our first South West Rally :D

Despite inaccurate earlier reporting we had 20 Zeds as well as various other makes that came and went.

Sandi and Nigel were absolute top hole hosts not only providing free camping, but also a plastic palace for those too pissed to erect their own tents and even gave us the use of the skittle alley for which various uses were found, not least of which was a dormitory

Most arrived with bikes laden down with gear for the weekend, but special mention for the classiest entrance must go to Guy who arrived wearing only leathers ! I asked where he'd some from with sooo little encumbrances, expecting him to say the next village ... just outside Reading he retorted ... I enquired if he had booked a B&B as he clearly had not brought his temporary home on his back and was informed he had intended to ride home  I explained that this was against the rules as we in the South West do not tolerate drink driving, nor sobriety; so Sandi sorted him with a dossing station and he worked hard on drinking for Reading

Sadly the Royal Mail let down Tricky Mikey so he had to ride down on his Eff Jay, but he didn't let that ruin his weekend

Piglet cheated openly at pool by contravening the SWZ1OC rules for playing pool at rallies, which clearly states that all players of the game shall have imbibed at least 60% of their known maximum alcohol tolerance before wielding a cue.

I am sorry I was unable to say good bye to one and all this morning, but I was very unwell and even now am pretty light headed  Sorry that the standard of my photography is so poor in many shots but I was taken tired and emotional and found even my pocket camera too complex

I ve only just stopped shaking from the amount of alcohol I consumed. A cooked dinner and a little sleep works wonders.

After I left the pub Sat evening about 11.30 and got into the taxi I found a couple of local girlies on their way out for the evening.

They questioned my reason for going back to my room at that time on a Saturday and since I could offer no reasonable explanation I had to go into Taunton with them. (Would have been rude not to)

Anyway a big thank you to Natalie and Gail who looked after me in a strange town and made sure I got back to my B&B safely. At 3.30

It`s good to know that the young people of Taunton are just as capable of rolling around in the gutter as they are in any other town at 3 a.m.

Chris, glad you had a good time with... Natalie and Gail.... who....

when they are not out on the RAZZZ on a Saturday night, usually go buy the names of Norman & Gerald, infamous bricklayers from Weston-Super-Mare

Sorry Chris, just jealous, you dirty old goat

Ralphy,

superb rally, Thanks for arranging sunshine when I arrived, sorry my Zed was so dirty, really...

I had to dash back to the midlands on Sunday morning, I had a hospital appointment, not such good news, I will be having back surgery later in the year.

Your photos are great for capturing the spirit of everyone having fun. Really nice crowd of new friends.

Thanks again, and I hope you recover well enough to plan next years S W rally.

Oh. and I so nearly dropped it on an oily roundabout, one of those sideways slides shouting f*** f*** f*** as the curb comes nearer and the front just slides. not nice, but I survived.

All the best to you and everyone else who made it so much fun.

Simon

I had to come home from work early today as I am just so exhausted. :star

Not sure if it was the 170 mile ride home or flailing around the dancefloor to the Prodigy :ref
