Got absolutely soaked on the way down, like I haven`t been in 20 years or more. It was so bad you couldn`t see the Tor from the bottom of the hill !
Still once at the pub the great news was the "Fighting Cider" was £1.50 a pint, so I did my best to drain a barrel
. I managed to drink from 1.00pm until 11.00pm and then felt this overwhelming urge to sleep. It was the next day they told me it wasn`t fighting but sleeping cider
The landlady at the B&B was indeed legendary but after the Wheelgate it made an extreme contrast
Highlight of a very wet Saturday afternoon was Bedlow getting his 900LTD out of the van and letting me have a spin around the car park. A combination of old, cold tyres, wet ground and a willing motor made for some comedic wheelspin and near loss of control to much hilarity. I thought it was a great demonstration of skill but on reflection a half cut rider on an unfamiliar bike showed a supreme level of trust or optimism on Grahams part.
It was nice to see Sandy and Nigel there with Sandy giving hugs to all the guys there. She truly was a great hostess last year and it showed up this years. I didn`t see half of what went on - who said blind drunk - but was told the rudeness was quite something.
Well done for all your hard work organising things Ralph and Marion, you made a great weekend and I`ll look forward to seeing you next weekend.
