Great pictures Phil, and it was good meet up with you on sunday. I bid on the 1100 Zephyr in the Bonhams auction and won it. The z1000 went for over £2K which was higher than i would have paid (for its condition).
The "ZR1100" is in fantastic condition and has been well looked after. It came with loads of history plus manuals, brochures, 5 old mots, various bills etc. I dont think it will ever be a classic as such and i am not a big fan of retros but i will "suck it and see". Its the newest bike i have ever owned as its a 1998 and its got loads of things on which are new to me !
My other half and a mate are always telling me to get a "new" bike so i have met them half way. I still want a big Z , but that will have to wait for a while now or i will be lynched by the wife !!!!!!!

Good to meet you Steve, any idea how much the Z1000 went for in the end?
Have to admit, the Zephyr is not one of my favourite bikes, but... they represent excellent value for money. Let's see a picture or two.

Phil, the Z1000 went for £2185 with the charges. It had a fair size dent in the tank, wrong shocks, wrong horns, wrong discs, and an oil leak. I think it will be a great project but i didnt want another project yet !.
The 1100 is on the lift in the garage having a full service and checkover before i venture out on it. I am always concerned that when i buy an unknown bike that there is a "hidden agenda" behind the sale or that someone has bodged it. It all seems okay though and the bike is 100% standard. It wont be pampered like my other 2 bikes but i think it will be a nice bike to ride and should be as fast as my old 1105 was but without the temperament :D or the charactor .
Will post some pics when i get it "on the road".
