South West Rally No 1

#1 PostAuthor: RALPHARAMA » Tue Jun 17, 2008 10:33 pm

It's official now.

Our first South West Z1OC rally will be held on the 5th, 6th and 7th of September 2008 at The Canal Inn, Wrantage near Taunton.

I will arrive Friday afternoon and anyone is welcome to join me.

Camping is FREE and our hosts are bikers, though sadly they had to sell their bikes to buy our new rally venue. They are properly laid back folk who understand the needs of bikers and so will ensure a limitless supply of booze, food and humour! Sandie even told me she had clocked a ton sixty on her old kwaka - at that point I was sold! They have experience of hosting bike events, so with my enthusiasm and their expertise this should be a stonking event.

I will be leading a ride out on the Saturday, and there will great merriment on both Friday and Saturday nights

Please let me know ASAP if you are going to join THE South West social event of the year :D

Piglet and myself went to our new venue to meet Sandi our 'Mine Host' :D Fine woman. To buy our venue she and her husband Nigel had to part with their bikes. They are now ready to rock again, and are hoping to get new bikes soon -

Here's her with her last bike:-

I'm afraid my pix don't do the place justice.

There is a really nice, proper country pub bar, a restaurant area, a cracking beer garden, a big bike park which will be more than capable of looking after our needs and a nice mown paddock for us to camp in. Out of a sense of duty, I sampled the food which is excellent quality traditional country pub grub. I had steak in ale pie with chips which was home made and just the job :D

I don't think we could have found a better place to hold our rally - Run by Bikers for Bikers :D :D

Some tight git whispered in Piglet's shell like that there were biscuits hidden in the paddock - Sandi, just called me to say he's still out there hunting

I'm not .. the lousy git grabbed it from the book shelf - now I understand why he wanted to use his camera :( Whilst I am not particularly anti-royal either, I had no time for the Spencer bimbo. I have the highest regard for Charles, and he should have been allowed to marry his horse when he first wanted to; at least she understands what the score is, and he clearly sees something in her that eludes me :D
