Many thanks for your kind words. Hope all is getting better with your hand.
Judging by the stony silence on this thread, I can only conclude that others weren't as impressed by our efforts. After eight rallys, it is probably time for me to pass the baton on to someone else.

Ralph, there was nothing wrong with the rally at all, I had a good time. The only downside was the weather....nobody can control that. Attendance could have been better but I bet the weather had a lot do with that. Keep up the good work, a thankless task. Thanks for all the effort. How many members in this club? About 500 maybe. I know everyone has a life but it would be good to see a higher attendance.

Ralph / Mary lol
I've had this feeling many times that's why I missed a yr with the Yorkshire rally but now Hope to get the numbers up again and even looking at a new venue . Marion and yourself do a superb job and have to ignore anything that makes you think otherwise unlike lots of members that do jack shit but complain at the first instance . Keep up the good work and FUCK moaners and key board warriors lol

Ralph. I was going to post something on the thread but the week has slipped by. I thought the Rally was very good, as mentioned above the weather was unfortunately poor which deterred a few people. Most noticeable were the actual SW Members who chose the easy option and did not attend.
The ride out was excellent and CB and yourself had obviously put a lot of thought into that. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride out and it was great following Jack's Supercharged Zed. We had a great blast. It was sods law that you were hit by mechanical problems but that is life.
As the "Big Man" says you do not get any thanks just the moans !!

Ralph - I started a separate specific thread on the rally and how good it was

Don't give up matey, it was a great turn out for the ride and you can't predict or control the weather which will always impact numbers for the weekend.

Thanks for the comments ladz.
In the past we've always had quite a bit of feedback, but this years there was pretty much zilch, leaving me to assume that it wasn't a success. We're not looking for any one blowing smoke up our arses (where did that vile expression come from?), but we need to know if we're getting it right or wrong. eg despite the enthusiasm for live music on the forum no one really wanted the bands, even though we had some really good bands playing just the sort of music everyone said they wanted. We did contemplate a rock disco, but when it came down to it we realised that the boys just wanted to chat, eat good grub and drink loads
The year before I tried a slightly longer ride-out with a brisker pace and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Using the drop off system, folk can ride at their own pace and the quicker ones can go as fast as they want but may have to mark a bit more often
When the leader finds he has no one behind him he gets the message to back off the throttle
Given no one has plunged their arms skyward to take over the task, are there any ideas or suggestions of the way things could be done better?
The ride-out was later in the day this year this year, basically because the airfield couldn't cope with us during their lunch time rush. Would folk like to go somewhere to have lunch? See an attraction? Go after lunch for Coffee and a cake?

Ralph, I liked things just the way they are.....a few beers, food and talking bollocks. The ride outs are fine too. Plenty of space for camping, clean showers+toilets, very quiet location and good food+beer served. We can't ask for much more than that.
I don't think many of us could do what you are doing so well.

Ralph, I'd go along with everything scott said. Location is great - good facilities, quiet when you want to sleep, etc, etc
and it does seem that most just want to drink some decent beer, have quality food, talk bikes or any general rubbish and take the piss out of each other

the ride outs are always good - your drop off system works well - most the time - I managed to get separated and lost briefly on the way back this time - thank god for GPS maps on phones

although this years ride destination was really good - as you suggest; something a bit earlier to somewhere to get some lunch would be a good idea.
it would have been nice to get back to the site earlier - give chance for a rest (or cheeky nap) before the evening.
keep up the great work matey

As a fore mentioned SWster, sadly couldn't make do being on call which i can't get out of,but given a clear weekend would love to be there, good or bad weather. Sadly do feel like I'm missing out on a good do,so keep up the good work Ralph and CB.
