South Westers - antidote to Christmas

#1 PostAuthor: RALPHARAMA » Tue Nov 25, 2014 3:55 pm

The world's best polisher has asked if we're having a South West PU again this crimbo. :D

I would suggest that either Friday 5th or Friday 12th of December, has to be favourite :D

Given I don't know of any pubs in town, I would suggest the Rising Sun in Pensford, as last year. If there are lots of Bristolians who want to join in and have any better venues in mind feel free to suggest them. Nothing's written in stone as yet.

I personally hate Christmas, but love drinking and talking crap with my biker friends :D ... and I know I'm not alone ... especially in the Z1OC

Pensford ain't the easiest place to get to & from by public transport. I would imagine getting a taxi late at night would be a 'bit of a bastard' too.

How about doing something in Bristol, say around Temple Meads which has excellent public transport links :? There's even a pub opposite the station called 'The Reckless Engineer', which might sum up one or two on here!

As I stated in the original post I'm open to suggestions. Currently 80% of those who have said that they will support this night live within a mile and a half of the Rising Sun. If those living in Bristol would like to make a suggestion as to a preference for a date or venue I'm all ears. never been in the Reckless Engineer so can't comment on it's status. Are you able to make either night Steve? Any other Bristolians able to give a yah or nay to either date?

Bit of a 'Catch 22' this.

Holding it out in the sticks will only attract those that can get there easily, which explains 80% support of your locals.

It is only my opinion that you might be better supported at a venue that is easier to get to.

I can't really commit to either date Ralph, It's looking like it's gonna be extremely busy for me, so please don't change anything on my account. It was only a suggestion, which is what you asked for in your original post.
