Nice one Phil. I know nothing of the Dutch scene.

As for our rally ideas. I've always fancied the idea of a slow race. You know, 10 metres in a straight line, turn and back again. Slowest time wins.

vduk wrote:I have tried using good rock bands at our rallies, and I believe Hobbo has as well, but few people seem interested in the bands, but prefer the drinking and talking bollix. That said if the weather is good and there are sufficient numbers a band outside might be a good pull, for those of us who appreciate a good old bit o rock!

A ride out with an end point that is interesting is always good - Hobbo did one to a bike museum a couple of times and I have led them to a steam and engine fair once and to a strange museum another time, which went down well. I have no idea what bike/machine oriented points of interest there might be within a thirty mile radius of the venue - best ask those who reside in the third world

God alone knows why, but Somerset cider is a big draw at our rallies

Games with memorabilia as prizes?
eg a) throwing the heavy but inexpensive/knackered zed parts (not at anyone, well maybe a traffic cop  )

b) beg/borrow/steal a mini moto bike and set up a time trial course.

c) tyre changing challenge - get a knackered wheel and time tyre removal refitting with basic tyre levers?

I know I didn't post offers of help, but as a rep I assume that my cooperation would be taken as a given! With my graphic designer head on, I could obviously design posters, tickets, flyers etc. If you want a special html website for it I could also do that.

A little while ago at the BMF rally (well 1976 ackchurly) they had a "Trash the Tank" stand where for a small fee you were given 2 minutes with a club hammer to get as many bits of a Volvo through an 18" hoop as you could (I think they used a car they found in the car park). All monies went to a kids charity and It was prob the best supported event. Anyone got a Vulva?
