Late Summer Ball - Lower Lode 14th / 15th September
Moderators: KeithZ1R, chrisu, paul doran, Taffus
So roughly how many are going? weather on Sunday looks an absolute shocker - rain and gales

don't mind a bit of rain and getting wet - decided to ride to work on Monday – Oxford to Birmingham and back – bloody weather tested my water proofs – suit was ok, but looks like I might need some new boots – tell-tale sign is when you get off, put you foot down and water squeezes between your toes inside your boot!!
.... but packing a tent in wind and rain is one of my pet hates

Was going to try to have lunch there around 2ish - if I can drag my ass out of bed early enough to sort stuff out.
Then need to pop back to Gloucester for 3:30 - and no, I'm NOT meeting Coldsummer
need to pick my youngest and drop her at her home - should be back at Lode by 5ish.

Not long back from the Lower Lode - was another good night at the beer festival - lots of great banter with all who turned up
lots of the usual suspects, plus a few new faces I'd not met before.
A good selection of bikes there in the evening - hopefully someone has some photos? PJ's Harris looked great in the flesh.
Sam and her team did a great job of hosting and provided a quality breakfast this morning for those brave enough to stay over and face todays weather on the ride home
hope you all got back safe and not to wet.
I managed to escape the worst of the storm - once I left Gloucester there was no more rain and the further east I rode the dryer the roads got - after about half-way to Oxford the roads where completely dry
Looking forward to the next one in the spring
but I really need to get a bigger tent - I'm too old to for my cramped "wind sock" of a tent

Great weekend as ever thanks tp PJ and co for organising it. some new friendships forged, some new faces seen and more bollox than enough talked, along with a fair amount of laughing and P*** taking
THIS is what this club is all about
and we got a free firework show as well.
The rain held off until I had been on the road a few hours with expected dousing arriving when I was 2 miles from home ....Result
