Weather was brilliant, had a great ride home till I got nicked following an all black XJR1300... which was a bloody cop bike, which has a rear view camera on board and noticed that I was over the double white lines (just) after overtaking the same car he did! t**t

Anyway, I nicked yer prize

Only after the bugger had written the ticket out Steve.
I’d been following him for a good 6 miles, overtaking several cars together, but not above the national speed limit.
Basically I was just following him nice and easy, but when we went to overtake the last car, my turbo bogged down (lag) and by the time I had got past him, I was over the double white lines.
He didn’t even take a look at the bike when he pulled me over, he simply went into “it’s the lawâ€￾ mode and wrote out the ticket, thinking I was one of the hooligan born again bikers.
It was only when he got to “Make & Modelâ€￾ that he realised I was on a classic, and that was when I told him about the turbo lag.
I told him that I hadn’t had any points on my license since I was 19 and I’d been riding bikes ever since. I also told him that I run a VJMC section and often have to set the pace etc. for about 20 odd bikes behind me, and the fact that I have to train the younger drivers here at Bentley on how to use the power properly and drive the cars etc.
He had me for crossing double white lines so I should be getting a letter through the post soon, but he’s put a note in the ticket to say “option of 1 evening only road positioning courseâ€￾ .
He was quite sympathetic actually, he seemed to regret the booking but shit happens!
