Morning Folks
Just a brief note to confirm the camping details we recently sent in the info pack - that Donington Park are unfortunately not allowing anyone to camp in the paddock on Thursday night prior to our trackday on Friday.
You're welcome to drop bikes off in the garages until 8pm Thursday evening when all the garages will be locked overnight, then kip in your van on the campsite next door to the track, but we would suggest pre-booking at the campsite; http://www.donington-park.co.uk/about-d ... n/camping/
We will be in the paddock until locking up time then down to the campsite or local Holiday Inn Express for a chinwag and a beer, so look forward to seeing some of you there!

Absolutely fantastic day. The weather behaved it self and saw some fantastic bikes.
Thanks to Rob, Darin and the rest of the team.
I managed to scrape both the end of the exhaust and side stand, so need to sort them out for the next tack day.
I will upload some pictures later on.

As above, brilliant brilliant day.
I cant say enough about the organisers Robz1100R and Darin (and team) who worked theyre Bo**oks off all day long to make a great day for other people.
Many thanks to you and Watling tyres for the effort and energy you put into it.
Good to meet at long last Robw with his electrifying Lawson that i only ever saw the back of, JW and the stunning Bonneville hybrid, and the others who contributed/ took part on the day.
Phil and Mike, cant thank you enough for youre input too and for showing me what to do with youre ZZR on the track, spontaneous free advice and tuition from a couple of guys i now consider friends.
Thanks to Classic Motorcycle Mechanics magazine Editor for bump starting my bike so they could film it too.
Last of all but by no means least, Mr Sanderz who was, it goes without saying, 'mad for it'. Great to meet you.
Bravest person on the track for the day was Robz1100R's GF on the GPz 550 Uni. Keep at it, youve got ability there. I take my hat off to you for the 'roughing up' you had to put up with all day.

Yes, great day.
Well organised and lots of fun. Thanks for that- I’d be happy to do it again.
My boots are now fully water proofed by my oil leak…. Gpz A1-3 cylinder head anyone?.... but that didn’t stop me having a really great time.
I was a little stressed to start- you know you feel that you are just a mistake away from falling off, but once I got into a routine I calmed down a lot.
There is quite a range of ability on the track from the hugely talented to …. well….. me!
Some there were just so fast they were a joy to watch- you know who you are.
I was impressed just how courteous those quick riders were- no one buzzed me on a corner and didn’t feel the subject of any racing angst. I mean- I felt like the fat country cousin- but still really enjoyed cranking my bike over and thrashing it to an inch of its life.
Donnington is quite a fast circuit, but there is lots of interesting bits too. I don’t think I did a single lap where I got every corner even near right. I even ran out of petrol on the last session- and stopped 100 yards from the pit lane entrance on the return lap! I was embarrassed but just glad I didn’t hold up the session.
I certainly got all the track time I could want in a day.
Thanks to all who organised, Andy at Watling tyres …who gave me some good advice about me knobblies- and everyone else for making it such a fun and friendly event.
I recommend it without reservation- a day to remember.

What were you on?
Thought i was on the podium but other people kept on overtaking me.

Learnt something else about CV carbs and racing too.

Wish i had known you were there. Mine was the more or less standard J (Blue) pictured above (second picture down) from Robw.
Boiled the front brake just before lunch!!!!!
Rode the afternoon sessions with no stopping which did make it go faster. Only went off the track three times but managed to stay right to the end.
What a bonkers day

Borrowed this from the Old School Suzuki board. Couldnt help but be impressed by the fit and finish.
Wished i had had the time to go and watch it circulate.
