could anybody explain the difference between the a4 seat base and the 1a base? is it just a case of drilling and resiting the hinges? ive always liked the giuliari 2:4 seats, there's one on ebay at the moment, but its for the a4.

If my memory serves me well the hinges are the same, the Z1 series have a plunger for the lock while the Z900A4/Z1000A1/2 have the hook type.

Hi Mick,
as mentioned Z1a seat has a plunger later ones a kind of loop, Zpower sell the plunger in stainless so I guess you can cut the loop off and use one of those.

I can tell you the seat will fit as Ive got one on my z1a. The retaining mech has been taken off so it will close. I want to replace this so if you find away to cut off the loop & fix a nut to accept the plunger thats cold so as not to destroy the foam ill be interested.

There must be some big arses out there cos loads of peeps seem to want seats.. me included!! If anyone finds 2, I will have the other, sitting on a bare frame is not good! especially when you brake hard!!
