One for the Zed experts.....is there a ball bearing between the slotted threaded clutch adjuster and the push rod ?

On my bike, there is not...on Dave James' bike there is one , and it seems to be messing up the adjustment .

( I should add that the adjuster stud on dave's bike seems to have been fabricated from a cut off piece of bolt ).

I've looked gthrough the Kawsaki manual , but can't find a detail shot / drawing or explanation.

no the bearing shoulb be between the push rod and clutch pusher mushroom ,, if one has been fiteed in the actuator mech then its probably because the rod is too short ,, hope this helps

The ball bearing is on the clutch end off the pushrod. The outer clutch release ( the round threaded thing ) has the clutch pushrod fitted directly into it. You can pull out the pushrod and the ball bearing will stay on the end off the clutch pusher. Only way to get at the ball bearing is to remove the clutch cover etc.

My question was slightly misleading.... I literally meant a single ball was positioned between the adjuster screw and the push rod...don't know why except I think the home-made adjuster screw was too short.

All fixed now, ( ball removed ) and can actually adjust the clutch again.

i thought maybe someone had put the ball bearing on the wrong end off the pushrod, I pressume dave has one on the other end
