Should the cable (cables in my case as RS36 fitted) run above or below the spine of the frame where the coils are mounted?

Off the top of my head I think it goes down the side above the frame and dips down through behind the coils. Haven't been in there in almost exactly a year so it's a bit fuzzy but I think that's right.
