How do you remove the needles on these things? I've tried as much as I dare to pull them off, unfortunately can't seem to raise Chris Rivett any longer for advice.

Dogs, ive just tried pulling the needle off on a spares tacho, just to see how its done. the dial does come off the pin, but the pin snaped off the tacho on mine, then i removed the pin with pliers, so what im saying is, i wouldnt use to much forse until someone who knows what theyre doing gives some good advice.

try and twist it first to loosen it from the shaft ,then lever each side at same time using two flat screwdrivers it should just pop off but if your unlucky like me i manged to knacker two set of clocks before i got it right and can you get the shaft back in answer no good luck

Didn't someone post recently that you could prise them off with a pair of teaspoons.

i changed all my clock faces not long ago,and found the best way for me ,was to put two spoons under,one opposite each other,and gently prize them off,at the same time,it worked well for me,worth a try anyway.

Spoons, as Hillbilly says. Works a treat!

Two teaspoons with the tips held hard against the shaft so the pressure is not near the edge of the needle centre and pivot the spoons evenly, they are tight but they do pop off ok.

Just had a chat with Al Marshall and he's kindly offered to re-crimp the clock casings when I'm ready.

I have to say Al Marshal is the man. He made my clocks better than brand new and VERY much cheaper than his contemporaries. Cannot recommend him too much! A first class bloke and knowledgable on Z's he has so many of them!
