Right this is where i admit something and look a t**t and you all take the piss, as i said at the start of this thread after all that work yesterday replacing plug leads, stripping carbs, adjusting float heights etc etc etc and thought id fixed it only to get on it today and its gone back to spluttering etc, wellllllll went to look at it this afternoon and i noticed i kinked the fuel pipe to 1 & 2 cylinders (vaccum tap dual outlets) when i put the tank back on last night   so i unkinked the fuel pipe and it started up straight away on all 4 cylinders   not taken it out yet but its ticking over and reving up sweetly in my garage.

Dont think anyone will take the piss as we have all been there and done it.
I can remember years ago taking a bike to a dealer because it was only running on 2 cylinders. The mechanic looked under the tank and said you have put the petrol pipe onto the wrong connection. I felt a right idiot. I had spent 3 weeks messing with it after overlooking the obvious. I thrashed the life out of it going home to get revenge on it and teach it a lesson.

All been there and done stupid things some not so stupid. Thanks to you Mikey I have now resolved (I think) my rough running spitting on overrun. Tried the wd40 trick mentioned in the other thread and bugger me if all but one of the inlet manifolds had air coming out. New ones bought on e bay today. Having looked over the inlets by eye I could see nothing wrong and so stripped the carbs again!!!
