Black wheel paint, any recommendations

I'll be needing some black wheel paint soon and having never painted wheels, (other than a quick and often iffy job on car steel wheels with halfords matt aluminium).
I want a decent hardwearing finish and a nice gloss finish.
Does anyone have any recommendations for paint brand and type?

Cheers

You'd be best getting them powder coated, you'll never have to touch them again after that.

Fair comment but it's one of those funny restoration situations where I want to be able to do all the work personally, powdercoatings not something I can do unless someone builds me a workshop with a bloody big oven
Added to which it'll be cheaper to paint

  I understand ya perfectly, I'm the exact same with my one, I did the frame, engine and bodywork myself out in the garage, but I do'nt know the brand of paint, I had it mixed in the shop.

Did you ever find out an answer to this? I'm in the same boat myself, wanting to paint a set of old Kawa alloys.

i saw a similar question on here a while back, someone recommended SIMONIZ spray paint. they do matt satin and gloss. i used it on various parts on my z over the winter, then left them on a shelf near the wood burner for months. the finish seems really tough to me. if you put up a question about this paint i think you would get some positive response. hope this helps. :)
available on line.

Thanks. I assume you mean their regular gloss/satin black paints. Their specialist wheel paints only come in white, silver or steel.

yes, just the regular tough black, don't know myself if it would be any good for wheels, but worth asking if anyone on here has experience of using it on wheels.
