hi, can any one please tell me how to tell the diffrance between standard needles and dynojet ones, the guy i bought the bike off said that the last owner had it done to stage 3, not much power pulling off at low revers when checking the carbs i find main jet 124, pilot jet 15, and the jet needle on the top slot with a washer holding it up higher, with a drag pipe on, as i now have fitted a motad system on i have a choice pod or air box, any idear what would be the best setting for the carb ( eg main jet, pilot jet, needle hight, )
thanks
john

Dyno Jet systems have different needle... some of them have a definite "waste" near the pointy end :|

If they're CV carbs, you often have to drill out the air passage to the diagphram a smidge, so that should show :?:

The pilot sounds a bit small? 17.5 or 20 more like :?: Mains shouldn't be far off?

The needle - if on top notch (setting needle down lowest) will lean out first 1/2 throttle openning - try mid point/raising needle

Sorry John  Waisted..... They often have a sudden reduction in diameter...... not a consistent reduction to the point.... but stepped in the last 1/2"

hi, all the needles seam to have a consistent reduction to the point,( eg smooth all the way down, but i did find thi,s when i pulled my carbs apart the needles were no 1on the 5th with a washer under neath it, no2 on the 5th with a washer on top,no3 on 5 th with out a washer, no 4 on slot number 4, with the air screws all 3/4 of a turn out on all of them ,
