Ok kiddies its like this.....

Ma Z1-R clox, well the indicator needles aint just waving like happy natives, they over the moon.
Now this aint no good for speed enforcement, dont need no tickets, paranoid as it is.
I know Mr Chris Rivett does a sterling job but ive missed the boat for the past two seasons
So.....i need a quick fix.

I know some members have fitted the type of digital speedos found on push bikes(Andy Z1-R Suffolk 2001)
Can anyone point me in the right direction on...
Whats available on the market at the moment.
Availability/supplier/cost.
illumination for night time riding.
Top speed.
Hints n tips on fitment.
Thanx in advance

Ed, I've fitted a couple.....

Had a "wirless" one on me old Gixxer... but it didn't work too clever

Just got one of eBay for £5 - delivered  Its really cheap & tacky with wires but will probably do ...... Gonna whack it on me Trumpet :P

To calirate them, most just need to know the tyre circumference. This is easy to measure.... Put a mark on the tyre. mark the floor & line the tyre mark up... Push the bike for 1 x revolution & mark the floor where it stops. Thats the measurement... probably around 2000mm or more :?:

They all seem to go over 100mph... Get one that shuts off automatically when not in use... or batteries won't last long! They are usually easily removeable too! Don't know about night lights :?:

Wires are just long enuff...... Halfords do 'em from just under a tenner... Worth a fiddle for that

A lot of sat navs have a speed read out on them, bracket to mount, bit of cling film to keep it dry and there you go speedo and directions

Sigma BC506 / cheap as chips, accurate but no backlight for night time.

Trail Tech Vector / more expensive but has backlight.

Ed have you had a look at the Vapor range of speedo's. Not too pricey and incorporate all the warning lights and have backlights for at night.
