hi ,me again. Go a slow leak of oil from my tacho drive. It has been there a while but i had no tacho cable , i thought installing one (cable) would fix the problem but it hasent. its not from the seam made between the engine casing and the body of the drive it seems to leak out the tip, is it meant to for oiling the tacho cable? xept its dripping on my pipes which then smoke like a bxxxxxd. its going for mot soon aswell and id rather it was on top form. any ideas?? i tried instant gasket on the engine/drive seam.

Dread
Theres an oil seal in the head where the drive exits and also an o ring on the drive shaft itself, both parts available for Z power

i put a plastic plug on one of mine once ,it stopped leak, the kind that saves threads on hydraulics.

As Wilson said, seal and o ring, 5 minute job, undo bolt holding drive unit to head, this then pulls straight out and then apart, easy and obvious how to change the o ring and seal then back in!

When it starts to leak again put a fibre washer between the cable flange and the drive housing, keeps the oil in the cable  the condensation rusts the cable out eventually

Piggy - made me own and it's counter bored to save weight :
