I have just spent ages cleaning of the old gasket from my GPz cam cover. To aid removal in the future should I smear a little grease on the new gasket or not :?
Your thoughts please gents.

I always use vaseline on all but head gaskets, it does it for me. :)

Ive never used anything but the gasket. I know people use grease, vaseline etc but there is no need in real terms, but I guess it cant do too much harm if other people do.Some gaskets have an adhesive in them that works as the engine gets hot to make a proper seal as we all experience when trying to get base gaskets of the crankcase face and bottom of the barrels!
