carbs

hi brothers and sisters . i have a z1000 ltd she was a american spec fuel injected model . all that was removed before i got her . now what i have on there is a set of mecunis . she has 2 T peice fuel intakes manual choke on the side the tickover ajuster in on the top . throtal is via two cabels one pull one return . now my question is this the T peice goes between the outer and inner carbs on the left and right . it has a moulded ridge on the outer edge and one set in a liltel further in before the t joint when i pulled the carbs a part some small bits of o ring fell out they were perished and i`m unable to tell what size they were . i have phoned zpower today who tell me that there should not be any o rings fitted . anyone know the answer to this ? many thanks

They shouldn't be on there, I've come across that myself, they where probably leaking and someone has put o-rings on to try and seal them, you really need new ones which I think are just over twenty quid from ZPower

agreed - definitely no O rings. A previous bodge methinks......
I had the same problem and had to get new ones from Z power.

no there not cv carbs there slide but i`m thinking about geting some cv 34 carbs from a gixster

Agree with all about .. "no o-ring on the Mikuni carb Tee pieces", with the exception of smooth-bores.
I have actually tried to repair these tee-pieces by inserting an o-ring, however, it's hard to get an o-ring thin enough. I was thinking a smart machinest coulds probably turn a nice groove on these and fit a standard O-ring, for a good fix!
